Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled at least ten settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine’s General Staff reported in its evening frontline update on 9 December.
Russian artillery shelling of Podoly village, Kupiansk district, wounded a 51-year-old woman, the Prosecutor’s office of Kharkiv Oblast reported.
Later, Russian troops shelled the town of Kupiansk, resulting in the deaths of two women, aged 67 and 71. Additionally, a 33-year-old man was wounded and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
According to a preliminary investigation by the prosecutor’s office, the attack was conducted using a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS).
The attack also damaged private homes, outbuildings, and vehicles.
On 29 November, the Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 299 children with their parents were evacuated from three communities in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv Oblast, following the announcement of a mandatory evacuation.
These actions were taken as forced measures because the Russian army attacks the frontline areas of the Kharkiv Oblast daily, employing artillery, missiles, and guided aerial bombs.
