Ukraine anti-corruption agencies serve suspicion notice to ex-Presidential Office head Yermak over alleged $10M laundering

Ukraine is reportedly conducting an investigation against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's former closest allies. On the evening of 11 May, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) conducted investigative actions regarding former Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak.

The information was first reported by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, while anti-corruption agencies later announced the exposure of an organized group allegedly involved in laundering $10 million through an elite real estate development near Kyiv.

Photos from right from scene and “unfinished process”

According to Zhelezniak, reports about the investigative actions began spreading after Kyiv residents noticed anti-corruption officers near the former Presidential Office chief and sent photos to the MP.

“Maybe it’s just a search. So far, several sources are saying exactly that. Which of course still makes the situation interesting, but there remains a feeling of an unfinished process,” Zhelezniak stated.

SAPO announces suspicion against former Presidential Office chief

Shortly after the reports emerged, NABU and SAPO officially announced the exposure of an organized group that, according to investigators, laundered $10 million through an elite construction project near Kyiv.

“A notice of suspicion has been served to one of its participants — a former Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine,” SAPO stated.

The agency added that the suspects’ actions were classified under Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — legalization of assets obtained through criminal means on an especially large scale or by an organized group.

Yermak left Presidential Office in 2025

In 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Andrii Yermak from the position of Head of the Presidential Office. He was later replaced by Kyrylo Budanov.

Authorities did not officially name the suspect. However, Ukrainian media outlets and politicians have linked the case specifically to Andrii Yermak based on details of the investigation and references to a former Presidential Office chief.
