Belarus is building training grounds, transport hubs, and logistical routes — Ukraine says Russia could use them for offensive at any time

Ukraine observes a buildup of military infrastructure and logistics in Belarus. The spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, emphasizes that these changes are not accidental, Den.Live has reported

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that specific activity has already been spotted along the border and is under control.

“At any moment, all this infrastructure that Belarus is creating can be used by Russia,” Demchenko stressed.

This refers to training grounds, transport hubs, and logistical routes that can quickly be turned into a full-fledged military base for an offensive.

Activity is accumulating and creating potential threat

At the same time, he noted that intelligence units are monitoring the situation in Belarus, and any movement of Russian forces there will not go unnoticed. However, Ukraine must be prepared for any development.

“Our task is to repel any attempts of invasion and counter any provocations,” Demchenko stated.

Despite Russia currently lacking a sufficient grouping in Belarus, the situation could change quickly if a political decision is made.

Belarus, a close ally of Russia, has played a key role in Moscow’s war effort despite not formally entering the conflict.

Russian forces used Belarusian territory as a staging ground for the initial assault on Kyiv in February 2022, launching troops and equipment south toward the Ukrainian capital.

Summer factor opens window for offensives

Summer traditionally changes the logic of war. Weather conditions and dense vegetation create ideal conditions for concealment and troop movement.

That is why the summer period is considered a potential window for new offensives.

Ukraine is already preparing for various scenarios, from local provocations to attempts at a larger-scale escalation in the northern direction.

Earlier, Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka threatened a joint response with Russia, including the use of all types of weapons, in the event of aggression against Belarusian territory.

In his statement, he addressed neighboring countries — Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine — warning them against actions that Belarus could interpret as hostile.
