Ukraine develops an advanced STRILA-2 interceptor drone with a rocket booster based on German technology. It will be equipped with a rocket booster similar to that used on the German Jäger, according to Oleksandr Berezhny, Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ukraine, as per Militarnyi.
German technologies will be integrated into STRILA-2, including the capability to use a solid-fuel rocket booster.
The booster is designed for rapid drone ascent to several kilometers in altitude, similar to the Jäger.
In addition, Ukrainian developers will gain access to artificial intelligence software solutions already used by Quantum Systems in its UAVs.
STRILA mass delivery: 15,000 drones with German help
In March, Quantum Systems received an order to supply 15,000 STRILA interceptor drones to the National Guard of Ukraine, funded by the German government.
The collaboration includes expanding drone production in Ukraine to meet the urgent needs of the Defense Forces and to allow export of surplus units.
Germany just funded 15,000 of Ukraine’s fastest drone hunters. STRILA hits 355 km/h and needs no GPS to find its target
The STRILA interceptor drone is designed to target Shahed drones, high-speed reconnaissance UAVs, and other unmanned aerial vehicles used by Russia.
This provides a new level of protection for Ukrainian airspace, increases the efficiency of air defense, and allows threats to be neutralized before they reach critical infrastructure.
Earlier, Berezhny said that German Quantum Systems organized 24/7 support for Ukrainian operators from its Australian office.
Australian experts work overnight in Kyiv time, supporting Ukrainian drone pilots and testing equipment. Data flows from Europe to the US, enabling rapid drone development and adaptation to combat conditions.
Ukrainian operators communicate with Quantum Systems via multiple channels, including direct contact and secure support services.
