Ukrainian forces destroyed a rare Russian drone, the “SKAT 450M”, valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars. This drone is considered a rare asset in the occupying forces' arsenal, Striks reports

The evolution of Russian UAVs underscores the need for continuous technological support for Ukraine from Western partners.

Ukraine crushed Russia's technological pride

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, only 10 to 20 units of this equipment have been destroyed. The estimated cost of one system is around $400,000.

The unit noted that the Russians are trying to adapt and deploy new types of weapons, but Ukrainian defenders are preparing for such challenges.

Modern Li-AFB battery couldn't help

Recently, the Defense Forces also managed to shoot down a new, rare Russian drone, “Klin”. It is equipped with a modern Li-AFB battery of a new technology, according to advisor to the Minister of Defense, Serhii Beskrestnov.

The appearance of the new UAV “Klin” indicates that Russia continues to invest in the development of drone technology for warfare.

He stated that the drone’s warhead weighs up to 5 kg. It also has the capability of automatic target acquisition and aerial detonation.

The flight range of the “Klin” is up to 120 km, with a speed of up to 120 km/h. The new occupiers’ UAV can remain in the air for 60–90 minutes.

Earlier, Ukraine carried out a series of strikes on Russian aircraft manufacturing facilities, including the Aviastar plant in Ulyanovsk Oblast and facilities in Staraya Russa.

The Aviastar enterprises are part of the United Aircraft Corporation under Rostec and produce Il‑76MD‑90A military transport aircraft, Il‑78M‑90A tanker aircraft, and maintain heavy transport aircraft such as the An‑124 “Ruslan”.

Ukraine has increasingly targeted military-industrial facilities in Russia and the occupied territory as part of a broader campaign to degrade Moscow's capacity to sustain its offensive since 2026. In the first weeks of spring 2026, it destroyed ammunition, fuel, and defense industry objects.
