Ukraine decimates Russia’s Bryansk microelectronics plant with Storm Shadows after its components killed children in Kharkiv

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have successfully targeted the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk, Russia. This facility specializes in producing control systems for virtually all types of missiles in Russia’s arsenal, the General Staff reports.

Three days earlier, Russian forces struck a residential building in Kharkiv, killing 11 people, including a 13-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. The Bryansk strike specifically targeted the plant supplying components for the control block of the BUBS‑30 used in the new Izdelie‑30 cruise missile—the same type used against the Kharkiv building.

The plant produces a wide range of microchips and components used in strategically critical weapons systems, including Topol‑M and Bulaava missile complexes, S‑300 and S‑400 air defense systems, and avionics for MiG and Su aircraft.

Critical pause in Russian weapons production

Semiconductor manufacturing relies on high-precision, sensitive, and scarce equipment. While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, it is clear that the production process at Kremniy El has been significantly disrupted, Defense Express writes.

The plant is a critical link in Russia’s high-precision weapons production chain, producing discrete semiconductor devices and integrated microchips that function as the “brains” and “nervous system” of modern armaments, including Iskander missiles.

Storm Shadow missiles reduced aggressor’s capabilities

Ukrainian units used Storm Shadow air-launched missiles to strike the Bryansk plant. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported the success of the operation directlu to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UNIAN reports.

“The Bryansk plant has been struck. This factory manufactured control systems for all types of missiles of the Russian Federation," says the president.

ATESH movement contributes to strike

The ATESH movement has reported direct involvement in the operation. Agents and members of the Secret Organization of Ukrainians repeatedly conducted reconnaissance on the plant and provided intelligence to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
