The United States has signed a $235.5 million contract with Belgian company Sabena Aerospace Engineering to provide maintenance and material support for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets, according to a Pentagon announcement.
The firm-fixed-price agreement covers intermediate and depot-level maintenance for both aircraft and engines through 28 January 2029. Work will be conducted at Sabena's facility in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Belgium.
"This contract provides for F-16 Intermediate and Depot Level aircraft and engine maintenance, and material management support for Ukraine," the Department of Defense stated in its announcement.
The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center at Hill Air Force Base in Utah serves as the contracting authority. At the time of signing, Foreign Military Sales funds totaling $69.7 million were allocated to the contract.
The Pentagon classified the agreement as a sole source acquisition, indicating Sabena was selected without competitive bidding. The contract falls under the Foreign Military Sales program designated for Ukraine.
The maintenance arrangement comes as Ukraine operates F-16s provided by international partners. In November 2025, unidentified drones conducted surveillance over F-16 aircraft and ammunition at a Belgian air base, according to earlier reports.
