Ukrainian paratroopers have repelled a large-scale Russian assault near Pokrovsk, destroying enemy tanks and armored vehicles and killing nearly 60 troops, according to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. The 46th Airmobile Brigade said their coordinated response involved drone units, engineers, and artillery, effectively halting the attempted Russian breakthrough.
Ukrainian defenders stop Russian assault outside Pokrovsk
Russia attempted a massed assault using both manpower and armored vehicles in the Pokrovsk direction, deploying tanks, armored personnel carriers, and light vehicles. The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces Command reported that the attack occurred in the area of responsibility of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade, which is part of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces.
“Podillia paratroopers gave the uninvited guests a fiery welcome,” the Brigade said, emphasizing that engineers, artillery crews, and drone operators worked together to repel the attack.
Ukrainian forces fully repelled the enemy assault.
Russian forces suffer heavy losses in failed push
During the failed assault, Russian troops lost significant personnel and equipment. According to the Ukrainian military, 59 Russian soldiers were killed and six were wounded. Ukraine’s defenders also destroyed two Russian tanks, two armored vehicles, and three light military vans colloquially known as Bukhankas.

The Brigade added:
“Our work continues. The 46th Airmobile Brigade will keep destroying the enemy who tries to move forward, and will do everything needed to ensure these assaults end only in failure and losses for them.”
