Ukrainian forces destroyed a newly introduced Russian off-road vehicle near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, according to the 7th Corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces. The vehicle, a Ulan-2 model based on the Sobol 4x4 commercial chassis, was eliminated during a targeted strike on Russian supply routes approaching the city.
Ukrainian troops take out Russia’s newest all-terrain vehicle
The 7th Corps said this is the first confirmed destruction of the Ulan-2, a new logistics vehicle that Russia had started deploying en masse to the front earlier in autumn. According to the 7th Corps, Ukrainian drones recently detected several such vehicles operating on enemy supply routes within their zone of responsibility near Pokrovsk.
"They say the occupiers were bringing 'gifts' for their so-called liberators ahead of the New Year. But our troops got there first and delivered their own — with no return service," the military wrote with sarcasm.
Russia intensifies efforts to encircle Pokrovsk
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces are launching assaults around the clock, facing stiff resistance from Ukrainian defenders and reportedly suffering heavy losses. Ukrainian Armed Forces Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov stated that more than 140,000 Russian troops have been concentrated along the Pokrovsk axis. The figure underscores Russia’s strategic focus on this part of the front, where it has committed significant manpower and new equipment — including the now-destroyed Ulan-2 — in its push to break Ukrainian defenses.
