Ukraine has received approximately €2.3 billion ($2.69 billion) in financing from the European Union following the EU Council's approval of the sixth tranche under the Ukraine Facility mechanism, the Ministry of Finance reported on 22 December, according to Ukrainska Pravda.
"€2.3 billion ($2.69 billion )from the European Union has been transferred to Ukraine's state budget under the Ukraine Facility financial instrument. Specifically, the Ukrainian government has attracted €2.1 billion ($2.46 billion) in credit funds and €200 million ($234 million) in grants," the ministry stated.
This marks the sixth regular tranche provided under Pillar I of the instrument. The funds will be directed toward financing priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the state.
To secure this latest payment from the EU, Ukraine successfully completed eight reform steps required for the sixth tranche, as well as one step stipulated under the fourth tranche.
"Support under the Ukraine Facility is key to strengthening Ukraine's macrofinancial stability and the uninterrupted functioning of public administration during wartime. The successful implementation of over 60 steps of Ukraine's Plan confirms our commitment to reforms, recovery, and progress toward European Union membership," said Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
The current sixth payment follows the most recent fifth disbursement on 5 November 2025.
The government previously assured it would be able to receive all funds from the EU for reforms under the Ukraine Facility framework.
