Ukrainian militray confirmed the struck on the Russian storage arsenal of missile and artillery weapons, located near the village of Kotluban in Volgograd Oblast, on the night of 29 September.

The distance from Kotluban to the Ukrainian border is roughly 300-350 kilometers (about 186-217 miles).

According to the report, an echelon of Iranian missiles arrived at this arsenal on the eve of the strike.

Earlier in September, Iran provided Russia with close-range Fath-360 ballistic missiles for potential use in Ukraine. These short-range missiles, with a range of up to 120 km, are expected to enhance Russia’s ability to target Ukrainian infrastructure.

The attack on the warehouse in the Volgograd Oblast was a joint operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service.

The drones reportedly hit the target around 02:30 am local time.

This attack comes amid reports of explosions in several Russian oblasts overnight. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed air defenses intercepted and destroyed 125 drones.

According to the ministry, some 67 UAVs were destroyed over the Volgograd Oblast, 17 over the Belgorod Oblast, 17 over the Voronezh Oblast, 18 over the Rostov Oblast, one each over the territory of the Bryansk and Kursk oblasts and Krasnodar Krai, and three over the waters of the Sea of Azov.

On 18 September, an ammunition warehouse in Russia’s Tver Oblast was reportedly hit.

LIGA.net’s source in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) later confirmed a strike on an ammunition depot in Tver Oblast. NASA satellites detected a spike in thermal activity in the area where the Russian missile storage facility was reportedly burning.

On 21 September, Ukraine’s General Staff announced that defense forces had hit two Russian military arsenals in Krasnodar Krai and Tver Oblast.
