Energy Minister urges Ukrainians to buy generators and power banks to prepare “for any possible scenario”

Amid the depleted stockpile of air defense missiles, Ukraine didn’t manage to effectively repel recent Russian missile attacks against energy infrastructure throughout the country, including the largest thermal generating facility Trypilska power plant.

Energy Minister urges Ukrainians to buy generators and power banks to prepare “for any possible scenario”
During an interview with the Rada TV channel, Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, said energy workers are working around the clock and doing everything possible to prevent long electricity blackouts in Ukraine. At the same time, he said, everyone in Ukraine should prepare for any possible scenario and buy generators and power banks.
"When the Minister of Energy tells everyone to buy electric generators, it frightens a little bit. But I will repeat: Yes, buy, prepare. But we will do everything possible so that you don't need them," he said.
The recent wave of Russian strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure has been a concerted effort to destabilize the country by targeting critical energy facilities, such as power plants and substations. These attacks have caused significant disruptions and damage, highlighting a strategic focus on exacerbating the humanitarian situation in Ukraine as winter approaches.

The scale of the attacks is vast. The country's largest hydro and thermal generating facilities were targeted: the Dnipro Hydroelectric and Trypilska power plants. The Dnipro plant suffered considerable damage, complicating the restoration efforts, which are expected to take years. Read also:
