Ukraine destroyed Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft in a week, Ukraine’s Air Forces reported on 29 February.
The Su-34 is crucial for Russian troops as it’s used for tactical deployments against ground and naval targets. The jet also undertakes tactical bomber, attack, and interdiction roles, which could be performed against various targets, day or night, and in any weather conditions. This is the seventh Russian bomber lost in February.
“Today is 29 February, a date that falls once every four years, but it is already a familiar day for Russians with the loss of another plane,” Commander of Ukraine’s Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk said.
On the morning of 27 February, Ukrainian Air Defences downed the sixth Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft in Ukraine’s east.
