Ukraine destroys three Russian bombers on eastern front

Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported that Ukrainian forces shot down two Russian Su-34 bombers and one Su-35 fighter.

Ukraine destroys three Russian bombers on eastern front

Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian fighter jets on the morning of 17 February, Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukraine’s Air Force, reported via Telegram.

The details provided by Oleshchuk indicate that two Russian Su-34 bombers and one Su-35 fighter were shot down.

The commander did not specify what weapons were used to shoot down the three Russian bombers.

On 22 December 2023, Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft in the country’s south.

Recently, the Ukrainian Air Force, which holds command over the air defense forces, confirmed that last May, Ukrainian air defenders used the Patriot system to shoot down five Russian airframes – a fighter jet, a bomber, and three helicopters – in Russian airspace simultaneously.
