On the evening of 6 January, Russian forces launched S-300 missile strikes on the Pokrovsk district in Donetsk Oblast, hitting detached houses.
As of 18:00, the head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported 11 civilians killed, including five children. Additionally, at least eight civilians were also injured.
“The enemy is cynically hitting civilians, trying to bring as much grief to our land as possible,” Filashkin wrote on Telegram.
The attack destroyed six private homes, with people still possible under the debris. Rescuers continue their efforts at the sites of the strikes.
Earlier on 6 January, Russian troops shelled Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with artillery, killing a 45-year-old man and wounding two more civilians, including a 16-year-old teenager.
