On 14 December, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command of the US Army Europe and Africa in Wiesbaden, Germany, following his visit to Norway.
The Ukrainian leader met with Commander of the US European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli, Commander of the US Army Europe and Africa General Darryl Williams, Commander of the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine Lieutenant General Antonio Aguto.
Zelenskyy and the commanders discussed the logistics of weapons supply, repair, and maintenance, according to the President’s Office.
The president also met with the Ukrainian military personnel stationed in Wiesbaden, where Ukrainian soldiers receive military training.
“I am honored to be here today to thank every warrior for their service in defense of our country. I am very glad that you are working as a team together with our partners, our true friends.
I wish you only victory. This is the most important thing. It is the beginning of life and the future,” Zelenskyy told the Ukrainian defenders.
Earlier, Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. The assistance includes a Patriot air defense system, capable of intercepting ballistic and cruise missiles, and additional rounds of 155mm ammunition.

The fresh aid package also includes nine Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles, three mobile, remote-controlled and protected mine clearing systems, 14 drone detection systems, eight Mercedes-Benz Zetros trucks, and four truck tractor trains 8×8 HX81, a semi-trailer, and over 47,000 rounds of 40mm ammunition.
