Overnight into 16 November, a fire broke out at a Russian military facility near the town of Kotluban in the Volgograd Oblast, Russian propaganda outlet RBC reported, citing local governor Andrei Bocharov.
Russian Telegram channel Baza reported that the blaze started around 1 am local time at an undisclosed defence ministry site situated northwest of Volgograd city.
Residents reported hearing explosions coming from the direction of the base.
“The fire at the defense ministry facility was extinguished. There are no casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure,” Bocharov said.
