Germany to give new EUR 600 mn military aid package to Ukraine

Germany has confirmed it will provide a new aid package to Ukraine worth approximately EUR 600 million ($660 million), German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said during the NATO summit in Vilnius.

Pistorius stated that the new aid package “serves Ukraine’s priorities: air defense, tanks, artillery,” European Pravda reported.

“In this way, we are making an important contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s ability to withstand the war with Russia,” the official added.

According to the German Ministry of Defense, Kyiv will receive two launcher units for the Patriot air defense system, 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 25 Leopard 1 tanks, and one Luna unmanned aerial vehicle system.

Earlier, Pistorius announced the upcoming transfer of dozens of Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine in cooperation with Denmark.
