The Ukrainian military published a video showing the destruction of a Russian open-air MLRS rocket warehouse in the occupied Donetsk suburb of Makiivka. The ammunition was dumped in the courtyard of an unfinished apartment complex on the city’s outskirts. The military’s video shows numerous secondary detonations and spontaneous rocket firings after the strike.
The Russian ammunition depot in Makiivka exploded on 4 July at about 21:30. The Strategic Communications Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the facility’s destruction.
“As a result of the effective fire of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, another Russian terrorist base in the temporarily occupied Makiivka ceased to exist,” the AFU Stratcom wrote.
Ukrainian online newspaper Mil.in.ua says the location of the warehouses was pinpointed to an unfinished building on Heroiv Stalingrada Street in Makiivka about 10 kilometers behind the lines, which is located among residential buildings and next to a hospital:
The blast wave damaged the nearby buildings, including the city hospital #2. The occupation authorities claimed that one person was killed.
