Approximately 6,000 cars with civilians who have been trying to evacuate from occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia Oblast are now standing blocked at the Vasylivka checkpoint. Going through this checkpoint is the only way to get into Ukraine-controlled territory, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said.
Russian soldiers who are in charge of allowing people to leave refused to work because "they have a weekend" and only let 100 cars evacuate. Many people have to live for 10 days in their cars before escaping the occupation, UkrInform reported.
