One of the most influential warlords in the Russian occupied territories, ‘Prizrak’ (‘Ghost’) brigade commander Aleksey Mozgovoy has been killed in a car blast while driving on the Luhansk-Alchevsk highway, according to LifeNews.
Mozogovoy’s brigade was based in the town of Alchevsk, some 40 kilometers from Luhansk. A few days ago, the Alchevsk city council posted an announcement about the ‘Prizrak’ commander’s readiness to defect to the Ukrainian side along with his brigade and the town garrison in a hope of pardon.
Lately, Mozgovoy had grave disagreements with the ‘LNR’ leadership. He believed the Maidan activists and followers of the so-called ‘Novorossiya’ had to join forces against the Kyiv government and the Ukrainian oligarchy, instead of killing each other. The warlord repeatedly criticized the Minsk Agreements and sought resignation of the ‘LNR’ and ‘DNR’ leadership.
