January 5: – Official statements regarding the summaries of the discussions regarding Ukraine in the “Normandic Format” on the level of the directors of the political departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany, which began on Monday in Berlin, did not take place.

Official results of the summary of negotiations is not planned, since “the meeting has a technical character.” The discussions will conclude by the end of the day; information about carrying on the discussion on a ministry level, “still does not exist”. It is not planned to continue the discussion tomorrow or after tomorrow.

Some special decisions which could change the situation in Donbas from the “Normandic Format” on the level of the directors of the departments, no one expects. We remind all, that there was earlier information that the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of France, Russia, Ukraine, and Germany will discuss the situation in Donbas on January 8-9th.

Due to such a sharp fall of oil prices, ruble depreciates against US dollar and euro. As of 7:40 pm, the US dollar exchange rate rose by 3.80 rubles to 59.80 rubles, and euro by 2.57 rubles to 71.22 rubles.

Next week Ukraine will receive 30 armoured HAMMERs, – said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his meeting with volunteers on March 14th. Earlier in February, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksandr Turchynov has stated that 20 Saxonarmoured personnel carriers (British) have already arrived in Ukraine and another 55 are expected to arrive soon.

    March 14 – "The process which started exactly a year ago in Minsk should not in any way create any illusions in anyone that the threat of war has disappeared or diminioshed. The situation demands clear and coordinated actions, which will sharply increase the defense possibilities of the Armed Forces, the possibilities of defending our country," said President Petro Poroshenko. During this, he also emphasized the importance of building an effective line of protection. "In taking into account our experience, the best examples of projects of fortification structures, dugout shelters, the location of strong points, we should build in the shortest time, a highly effective, deeply defensive position," underlined Poroshenko. According to him, every region should join in building fortifications "Every region has to make its most possible contribution to the fortification work, if we do not want to meet the enemy on the borders of our own cities," stressed the President.

    Also he emphasized that every region will be fortified by its part of the work, and will be responsible for its timeline and quality.
