Photo and idea contest: Open Ukraine for the World. Deadline 30 May 2015

 Victor Migalchan together with Vladimir and Tatiana Mikhailovy Studio have launched the photo project, Open Ukraine for the World – ‪#‎openUKRAINEfortheWorld‬. The goal is to collect ideas and photographs which present Ukraine at its best and to show a never-before-seen Ukraine. The winning ideas and photographsof this contest will be presented in exhibitions in Los Angeles (USA), Kyiv, Chernivtsi, and other cities around the world. The contest is open until May 30, 2015.

In order to participate, contestants must submit their own works (ideas and photographs) which reveal the unexplored horizons of Ukraine, as a personal message to the FB page Open Ukraine to the World. Works will not be accepted if they contain elements of unethical profanity; violate human rights or honor; bear fragments of aggression or violence, racial, national, ethnic, or religious discrimination, or nudity.

The primary task of each participant is to show something new through something old and known–through the prism of optimism and development. Conditions of participation can be found on the project’s official pages in Facebook or VK.

Requirements for photos:

  • Submitted before 30 May, 2015 as a PM to the fb page
  • Made only on the territory of Ukraine
  • JPEG format, 2500 pixels on the longer side
  • accompanied by a description which includes the title of the photograph, time and place of capture, who or what is shown on the image, and a text explaining what this photo tells the world about Ukraine
  • contact information: name and surname, email, telephone, address
  • If your photo is selected for the finals, please be ready to submit a photo with the maximum resolution for the exhibition.

Requirements for ideas:

  • Submitted before 30 May, 2015 as a PM to the fb page
  • A story about yourself, or people that you know whose lifestyle, achievements or hobbies could represent Ukraine to the world in an interesting way
  • The best ideas with the heroes of these stories will be visualized in a series of photographs “Modern faces of Ukraine” made by the photostudio of Vladymyr and Tatiana Mikhailovy
  • There is no limitations to the age or professions of the heroes of the stories.
