Russian troops shelled the village of Kurylivka, Kupiansk district in Kharkiv Oblast, killing a 67-year-old civilian woman.
Kupiansk was occupied by Russian troops in 2022 but liberated by Ukrainian defenders soon. The city is now allegedly coming under renewed pressure from the Russian military, as Russia has reportedly concentrated its sources there. Kupianks remain the primary target for Russia as they are a key railway hub to support efforts to capture the entirety of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and are necessary for attacking deeper in the Kharkiv Oblast.
According to Governor Oleh Suniehubov, Russian troops shelled the Kurylivka village in the Kupianks district at 10:30 am.
Over the past day, Russia attacked 17 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast, injuring a 49-year-old man in the village of Senkove. The strikes also damaged cars, residential buildings, outbuildings, and power lines.
