Ukrainian forces fend off 29 Russian attacks East of Dnipro River, says General Staff

In the last 24 hours, there were 89 battles between Ukrainian defenders and invading Russian forces along the frontline.

Ukrainian forces fend off 29 Russian attacks East of Dnipro River, says General Staff

Russia is not abandoning its intention to push Ukrainian units off the eastern bank of the Dnipro, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its daily evening summary. They report that the Russians carried out 29 unsuccessful assaults, faced resistance, and incurred significant losses. 

Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation targeted 16 areas with concentrations of personnel, weaponry, military equipment, and a Russian air defense missile system. Ukrainian air defense destroyed one guided missile, an X-59.

Ukrainian missile forces struck two areas with concentrations of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, as well as six Russian artillery units. 

In contrast, Russian forces launched 5 missile and 31 aerial attacks, conducting 53 shelling incidents from multiple rocket launchers on Ukrainian positions and dozens of populated areas. Civilian casualties are reported, with private residences and other civilian infrastructure suffering damage and destruction.

In the Kupiansk sector, which covers Kharkiv and Luhansk oblasts in eastern Ukraine, Russian forces, supported by aviation, made unsuccessful attempts to breach the defense of Ukrainian troops. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 16 attacks near Petropavlivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Lyman sector (Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts), Ukrainian troops successfully repelled 12 Russian attacks near Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, Terny and Spirne in Donetsk Oblast. The Russian Air Force conducted airstrikes near Serebryansky forest in Luhansk Oblast.

In the Bakhmut sector (Donetsk Oblast), Ukrainian forces thwarted 6 Russian attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast. 

In the Avdiivka sector (Donetsk Oblast), Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and 18 near Severne, Nevelske, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk Oblast. 

In the Mariinka sector (Donetsk Oblast), Ukrainian troops continue to hold off Russians in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Mariinka, and Pobeda in Donetsk Oblast, with Russians conducting 9 unsuccessful attacks supported by aviation.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, which spans parts of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, Russian forces did not advance.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainians successfully repelled 4 Russian attacks near Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the Kherson sector (southern Ukraine), the Russian Air Force airstriked Kherson City, Dniprovske, and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast.
