The United States will provide $1,3 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine, which will be used for energy and infrastructure needs, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced during his speech at an international Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
The US will invest $520 million to help Ukraine modernize its energy system, according to Antony Blinken.
“Today, I am announcing that with the support of the US Congress, we will provide more than $1,3 billion in additional aid. We will invest more than $520 million to help Ukraine rebuild the energy grid, one-third of which was destroyed by Russia. While Russia continues to destroy, we are here to help Ukraine rebuild its life, rebuild its country, rebuild its future,” Antony Blinken said on 21 June.
The US government will also allocate funds to support anti-monopoly reforms of the Ukrainian energy market and help Ukraine become a significant energy exporter, according to Antony Blinken.
On 21-22 June 2023, the UK, jointly with Ukraine, hosts the international Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2023) in London, the United Kingdom.
