Japan has agreed with Ukraine to establish a liaison system to support Ukraine's efforts to reconstruct areas severely damaged during the ongoing Russian invasion, Nikkei reports.
In Tokyo, Japan's reconstruction minister Hiromichi Watanabe and Ukraine's Deputy Minister for Restoration Oleksandr Kubrakov signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the reconstruction support initiative.
"At the request of Ukraine, Tokyo intends to provide Kyiv with advice and knowledge to be used in rebuilding devastated regions based on the experience gained from the massive 2011 earthquake and ensuing tsunami that hit northeastern Japan," Nikkei wrote.
