Germany's military attaché at its embassy in Kyiv has handed over five additional MEDIGUARD armored medical vehicles to Ukraine's National Guard, according to the German Embassy in Ukraine. The transfer is part of a new large-scale contract financed by Germany.
MEDIGUARD is a German-funded armored medical evacuation vehicle, assembled in Ukraine using frontline soldier feedback, with built-in protection against FPV drones. Its armor and medical equipment are manufactured in Germany, with final assembly completed in Ukraine.
The embassy underlined the vehicles' battlefield value with a direct account of combat survival: "This saves lives: one of the previously transferred vehicles withstood strikes from three drones on the front line. The crew avoided serious injuries."
Photos from the handover show the interiors fitted with full medical equipment for casualty treatment at the evacuation stage. On the exterior, each vehicle is fitted with an additional frame strung with netting designed to protect against small enemy drones.
