Entire Russian supply shipment derailed before it even moves in Crimea—sabotage lands on symbolic date

Ukrainian partisans from the ATESH movement report they have disabled a locomotive near Simferopol, effectively blocking the supply of Russian troops on the Zaporizhzhia axis. It cannot be quickly restored.

Agents carried out sabotage at a railway junction, destroying a locomotive that could not be quickly repaired. The operation took place on the eve of 18 March, a date Russia marks as the “reunification day” of Crimea.

This event symbolizes the 2014 annexation of the peninsula, which became one of the key milestones in undermining the international order and the beginning of Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine.

Disrupted supplies and empty depots: strike on logistics

“Supply of Russian units on the Zaporizhzhia axis, where active fighting is currently ongoing, is carried out via this railway line,” the partisans report.

It was along this route that another shipment of ammunition, spare parts, and materials for military equipment was supposed to pass. The destruction of the locomotive effectively blocked these deliveries, leaving units without scheduled resupply.

Disrupting logistics directly affects the enemy’s combat capability, limiting its ability to conduct offensive operations and sustain the intensity of fighting.

Russia concentrates its forces, aiming for breakthrough

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russian forces consider the Zaporizhzhia direction a priority and are concentrating significant forces there.

Their goal is to seize positions near Zaporizhzhia for subsequent artillery strikes on the city. Such attacks are particularly dangerous as they occur suddenly and without prior air raid warnings.

A massive artillery salvo in residential areas of the city could lead to significant civilian casualties. The city does not have a metro to accommodate all the civilians. Currently, the Russians are approaching Zaporizhzhia from the city of Stepnohirsk, where fierce fighting is underway.

The average life expectancy for a Russian invader is 12 minutes.
