Agents from the Atesh partisan group successfully carried out an operation against Russian electronic warfare (EW) equipment near Sevastopol, occupied Crimea, the group reported on 26 February.
Atesh is a pro-Ukrainian partisan group operating within Russia and Russian-occupied territories. The group regularly reports carrying out sabotage operations against Russian military targets and claims to have informants within the Russian armed forces, using covert strikes to degrade Russian capabilities and support Ukrainian military operations.
Tower near Sevastopol had been jamming Ukrainian drones
The latest strike targeted antennas on a communications tower near the village of Honcharne, which Atesh said had been interfering with Ukrainian drone operations in the area.
Atesh said agents set fire to relay cabinets at the base of the tower, damaging the power and high-frequency cables that supply the EW antennas.
Once the cabinets were destroyed, the antennas became inoperable, effectively shutting down Russian EW activity in the sector. Ukrainian forces can now operate drones in the area without interference, Atesh added.
Site near Black Sea Fleet backup command post and coastal missile brigade
The site is reportedly near several Russian military installations, including the 58th Central Material-Technical Base storing communications equipment, the backup command post “Alsu-2” of the Black Sea Fleet, and the 15th Separate Coastal Missile-Artillery Brigade.
The group described the operation as part of a broader effort to systematically disable Russian control in the skies over Crimea.
The claims cannot be independently verified.
