The Western sanctions are working. In 2025, the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G. M. Beriev suffered a net loss of over $65 million, whereas in 2024, the enterprise earned a profit of $15 million, Kommersant reports.
It is one of Russia’s leading aircraft manufacturing companies, specializing in high-tech aircraft and modernization programs, including the A-50, A-100, A-60, and the amphibious Be-200, which is used for firefighting and rescue operations.
The US, Canada, Switzerland, the EU, New Zealand, and Japan have imposed sanctions on this entity. The UK and Australia haven't introduced economic measures on the complex.
The decline in the Beriev Complex's production performance has strategic significance for Ukraine and its allies, as it limits Russia’s ability to effectively control the airspace and conduct reconnaissance, thereby directly affecting the potential for massive strikes.
Financial indicators fall: revenues and debts
The company’s revenues fell to $49 million, with costs at $45 million. Gross profit dropped to $3 million, and losses from operations reached $16 million, compared to a profit of $38 million the previous year. The company’s debt to creditors rose to $350 million.
The Russian aircraft manufacturer also provides scientific and technical support, operational services, and after-sales support for its products at customer sites.
It is part of United Aircraft Corporation, which is a state corporation within Rostec.
Rostec’s promises and the actual crisis
In the fall of 2025, the state corporation Rostec announced its intention to break a record in aircraft production, manufacturing 1.5 times as many planes as in 2023. However, the actual financial results of the Beriev Complex show serious problems with profitability and solvency.
