Two-thirds of Ukrainians hold negative views of US President Donald Trump, according to a survey by Rating Group reported.
The poll found that 47% of respondents have a "rather negative" attitude toward the US president, while another 25% expressed "very negative" views. In contrast, 22% of those surveyed said they have a positive opinion of Trump.
Young men aged 18-35 showed relatively more favorable attitudes, with 35% expressing positive views.
The survey was conducted 11-14 November using computer-assisted telephone interviews. The sample included 1,000 respondents and was representative by age, gender, and settlement type, with a margin of error not exceeding 3.1% at a 0.95 confidence level.
A separate recent poll by KMIS showed that 74% of Ukrainians consider Trump's presidency bad for Ukraine.
The Rating Group data comes from the international End of Year Survey conducted by Gallup International. The 2025 global study polled 64,097 respondents across 61 countries. Rating Group has conducted the End of Year Survey in Ukraine for the third consecutive year.
KIIS data shows a sharp drop post-January: In late 2024/early 2025 hopes, 54% saw Trump's presidency as good for Ukraine, but by February-March 2025, 73% viewed it as bad (up from 21% negative)
Attitudes toward other world leaders
The survey also measured Ukrainian opinions of other major world leaders.
Chinese President Xi Jinping faces predominantly negative views in Ukraine. According to the poll, 80% of Ukrainians have negative attitudes toward the Chinese leader—40% "very negative" and 40% "rather negative." One in ten respondents expressed positive views, while another 10% were undecided.
Russian President Vladimir Putin receives near-universal condemnation in Ukraine. The survey found that 99% of respondents have negative attitudes toward the Russian leader.
Globally, Putin is also perceived mostly negatively, with approximately two-thirds of respondents across 58 countries expressing unfavorable views. The most negative assessments come from Northern European countries, Estonia, South Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan, and Spain.
More positive attitudes toward Putin appear among respondents in Serbia, India, Azerbaijan, South Africa, Thailand, Armenia, Kenya, Mexico, Malaysia, and Ecuador.
