The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on 24 January that Russian forces continued active assault actions in northern Kharkiv Oblast. The agency said the attacks aimed to breach Ukraine’s state border from multiple directions.

According to the service, border guards from the Hart brigade held their positions and repelled the assaults using available weapons. DPSU reported that Russian losses over the last three days totaled 150 personnel. Of those, 73 Russian troops were killed and 77 were wounded, the agency said.
Neither DPSU nor the Hart Brigade specified the exact locations of the fighting. The Brigade only said Russian-occupation forces intensified assaults along the South Slobozhanskyi axis, which covers northeastern Ukraine near the border areas of Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.
The Hart brigade said its servicemembers used barrel artillery, rocket artillery, strike drones, and small arms to repel the Russian attacks. The brigade added that its units continue to block Russian attempts to cross the state border and advance into Ukrainian territory.
