Norway recently supplied Ukraine with a significant number of missiles for the NASAMS air defense systems, according to the Norwegian government. They were delivered due to cooperation with the US and other countries, the Norwegian government says.
Norway provided Ukraine with $7 billion in security support in 2026 and made the largest contribution to strengthening air defense through the PURL project among all partner countries in 2025.

NASAMS systems are already being used by Ukraine
NASAMS air defense systems have been provided to Ukraine by several countries, including the US, Canada, Lithuania, and Norway.
Also, Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik held his first online meeting with his new Ukrainian counterpart, Mykhailo Fedorov, on 22 January.
They discussed further cooperation under PURL and the development of NASAMS air defense system capabilities in 2026.
Joint large-scale project with DELTA data exchange
Fedorov proposed that Norway join a large-scale project supporting Ukrainian units on the front line with various types of drones and emphasized that Ukraine will be able to provide access to DELTA data and help Norway strengthen its own defenses by drawing on lessons from modern warfare.
He also expressed gratitude for the transfer of critical missiles to air defense systems from Norway’s stockpiles last week to protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure from cruise missile attacks.
