Drone strike hits Russian fuel train in occupied Crimea
Ukraine’s Defense Forces reported hitting a Russian fuel train positioned at a loading rack of the oil depot in Hvardiiske, in Russian-occupied Crimea. According to the General Staff, the strike aimed to disrupt the fuel supply of units from Russia’s so-called Dnipro troop grouping. The extent of the damage was still being assessed.
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces confirmed they carried out the drone strike using FP-2 strike drones, and published video footage showing the hit on the train in Crimea and a warehouse in Donetsk Oblast.

The same night, Ukrainian forces also hit another target in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast. FP-2 drones struck a depot storing ammunition and logistical supplies belonging to a unit of Russia’s 51st Army Corps near the village of Hirne. The attack was aimed at weakening Russian forces operating in the Orikhiv direction.
The Special Operations Forces described these actions as part of continued asymmetric warfare to erode Russia’s offensive capabilities.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces struck the Gerkon Plus oil depot near the settlement of Streletskiye Khutory in Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast on 6 January.
