On the morning of 26 December, at approximately 7:40 a.m., an explosion occurred in the city of Korenovsk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, approximately 900 kilometers from Kyiv.
The blast took place at the entrance to the deployment site of the 47th Missile Brigade of the 8th Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, also known as HUR, reports.
Information about the incident was officially released on 4 January.
Military KAMAZ vehicle destroyed
“As a result of a mine-explosive strike, a military KAMAZ truck transporting personnel of the unit caught fire. Russian soldiers sustained losses,” HUR stated.
“There will be just retribution”
Ukrainian intelligence emphasized that soldiers and officers of the 47th Missile Brigade are directly responsible for missile attacks on Ukrainian territory and war crimes against civilians.
“For every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people, there will be just retribution,” the agency's statement said.
