On the night of 1 January, Ukraine targeted military objects in Russia and facilities in temporarily occupied territory. The General Staff of the Armed Forces has confirmed the strikes.
Strike on the Ilsky refinery: fire recorded
As part of measures to reduce the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor, the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, was targeted, says the Ukrainian military.
“Strike UAVs hit the target, resulting in a fire on the facility’s premises,” the General Staff emphasizes.
Tatarstan: oil preparation unit hit
Fire damage was also inflicted on the Almetyevsk oil preparation unit in the Republic of Tatarstan. The target was confirmed as hit, with results still being clarified.
Occupied Donetsk: drones, air defenses, and depots
A separate set of strikes was carried out in temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk Oblast.
- Near Donetsk city, a storage depot for Shahed/Geran UAVs, used by Russia in attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, was hit.
- Near the settlement of Shevchenko, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system.
Ilovaisk and Avdiivka: fire and command post
- In the Ilovaisk area, a storage facility of the 51st Russian Army for fuel and lubricants was struck, resulting in a fire.
- Near Avdiivka, Ukrainian forces targeted the command and observation post of the assault unit of the 68th Tank Regiment, 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian army.
