Several EU leaders are scheduled to hold another discussion on Ukraine on the morning of 30 December, Polish government spokesman Adam Szlapka announced on X.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the talks at 11:00 am, according to Szlapka, who did not disclose which other leaders would join the call, Europeiska Pravda reports. The conversation was likely already underway at the time of publication.
The discussion follows a series of recent diplomatic developments. On 28 December, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at his Florida estate. The following evening, Trump reported having spoken with Russia's leader, who told him about an alleged Ukrainian drone attack on his residence.
"It would be very bad," Trump said of the purported attack, though he added that "maybe it didn't happen."
On 29 December, Tusk stated that the end of peace negotiations in Russia's war against Ukraine remains far off, but emphasized that Russia cannot be allowed to dictate the terms of peace.
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a meeting of what he called a "coalition of the resolute" to coordinate security guarantees for Ukraine.
The timing of Tuesday's call suggests European leaders are working to coordinate their positions as diplomatic activity around the war intensifies.
