Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his gratitude to Japan and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi for the decision to provide additional financial support to Ukraine for 2026.
“This will help our defense against Russian aggression,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that he values Japan’s leadership not only in the Pacific region but globally.

“This is an important boost to our resilience and the rules-based international order,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
Humanitarian equipment already at the front
Earlier, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that Japan provided Ukraine with humanitarian demining equipment worth over $60 million, UkrInform reported.
The equipment is already in use on the battlefield and has sustained some damage from mines and Russian attacks.
