A Ukrainian delegation is traveling to the United States for discussions on a plan to end the war, with meetings scheduled for 30 November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced.
The head of state confirmed that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, along with his team, is already en route to the US.
"Today there was a report from Rustem, and the task is clear – to quickly and substantively prepare the definition of steps to end the war. Ukraine continues to work constructively with America to the maximum extent, and we expect that the results of the meetings in Geneva will now be finalized in the United States," Zelenskyy said.
He added that he expects a report from the Ukrainian delegation following the work that will take place this Sunday.
Umerov noted that Ukraine's delegation is heading to the US to continue work on coordinating further steps aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.
He said that in the morning he reported to Zelenskyy on the state of preparations, key positions, and expected results of the next stage of negotiations.
"In the US, we will continue coordinating all the work that was formed during the meetings in Geneva. Ukraine continues systematic and constructive diplomatic work for the sake of a dignified peace," he summarized.
Bloomberg previously reported that Ukrainian officials will meet in Florida with Witkoff and Kushner.
On 29 November, Zelenskyy updated the composition of the delegation for participation in the negotiations. Previously, it was headed by Yermak, but on 28 November, the president dismissed him from the position of head of the Office of the President.
