Russia’s ballistic missile strike in the city of Kryvyi Rih has claimed the lives of a family of four, including three young children, leaving only the father as the sole survivor. The Russian air strike injured 14, including a 10-year-old girl treated on-site and three hospitalized in moderate condition, among them an 11-year-old boy.

Russia continues its deliberate daily air attacks on residential areas in attempts to terrorize civilians and damage civilian infrastructure. The Russian forces launch dozens of Shahed long-range “kamikaze” drones – usually Iranian-designed Shahed 131 or 136 – every night, often also launching several missiles and guided bombs during such attacks. Ukraine lacks the capability to intercept the bombs and is stretched thin on Patriot air defense systems, its sole means of downing ballistic missiles.

According to Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, the bodies of three children were recovered from the rubble of a destroyed five-story residential building.

“The body of the third child, who was less than a year old, was found under the rubble,” Lysak wrote in a Telegram post.

In total, Lysak stated that the Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih had killed four people. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

The search and rescue operation has now been completed, according to Lysak. Earlier in the evening, rescuers had found the body of the mother under the rubble.

Father survived, mother and three children were killed

The attack occurred on 11 November, during an air raid siren, when a Russian ballistic missile hit the residential building directly. Local media outlet Svoi reported that the family members killed were Olena, 32, Kyrylo, 10, Demyd, 2.8, and baby Uliana, 2 months old. The father, Maksym, was the sole survivor.

Everyone who knew them says they were very kind people. Olena and Maksym cooked meals for the homeless, visited children’s homes, and engaged in charity work,” Svoi wrote.
