Russian forces continued widespread attacks across Ukraine on 12 October and into the early hours of 13 October, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. The Ukrainian military reported intense combat activity and successful defensive operations against the ongoing Russian aggression.

Russia continues its deliberate daily attacks on residential areas in attempts to terrorize civilians and damage civilian infrastructure. The Russian army continuously targets settlements not far from the front with artillery, aerial bombs, and small drones. Also, the Russian forces launch dozens of Shahed long-range “kamikaze” drones every night, often also launching several missiles during the attack.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 186 combat engagements occurred over the past day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 47 attacks in Donetsk Oblast’s Kurakhove direction and halted 36 assaults in the Pokrovsk direction. The General Staff says Russian forces carried out five missile strikes using eight missiles, 90 airstrikes, including 158 guided bombs, and 4,243 shelling incidents, with 156 involving multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
