Lithuania allocates additional €13 million for Ukraine’s recovery projects

Lithuania has announced a new allocation of €13 million for recovery projects in Ukraine, bringing its total support to nearly €1.5 billion since the onset of the war, as the country continues to provide military, financial, and humanitarian aid.

Lithuania allocates additional €13 million for Ukraine’s recovery projects

The Lithuanian government has approved €13 million to support recovery projects in Ukraine. The funds will be directed to the Lithuanian Development Cooperation Fund for humanitarian assistance, according to Delfi.

Since the beginning of the Russian war, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with nearly €1.5 billion in military, financial, and humanitarian aid, UkrInform has reported.

“Since the start of the full-scale war in 2022, we have been implementing recovery projects in Ukraine in education, energy, and other sectors through the Development Cooperation Fund,” said Lithuania’s Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė.

The official emphasized that Lithuania aims to “encourage other international partners to do the same without waiting for the war’s end, thus strengthening the hope and belief for Ukrainians in a safe and prosperous future.”

The Lithuanian Ministry of Finance said nearly €24 million has already been allocated from the country’s budget to fund recovery projects in Ukraine.

Among those projects were the renovation of a school, the construction of a kindergarten in Borodianka, the repair of the “Ruta” kindergarten, and the installation of a radiation shelter in Irpin.
