Russia occupies Kasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast – DeepState

Deepstate project analysts reported on 7 October that Russians had completed the full occupation of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast.

According to the Deep State, Russian forces also advanced in Tsukuryno, near Hirnyk and Lyubymivka.

Krasnohorivka, a town in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, has been a strategic target due to its proximity to the city of Donetsk, which is controlled by Russia.

The town, with a population of approximately 16,000 people before 2014, has seen intense fighting and frequent shelling since 2014, with renewed battles in recent years as part of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Control of Krasnohorivka is crucial for the Russian military to gain or maintain territory in the Donbas Oblast.

Russia also has been actively fighting in the Pokrovsk direction to capture the nearby city of Avdiivka and expand its control in western Donetsk Oblast.
