Russian glide bombs hit residential buildings and a bakery in Kharkiv, causing 37 casualties

Russian glide bombs hit residential buildings and a bakery in Kharkiv, causing 37 casualties

A Russian attack on Kharkiv has resulted in a rising toll of casualties, with the latest reports indicating 34 people injured and three killed. According to preliminary information, the Russians launched eight FAB-500 aerial bombs at residential areas of the city.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the youngest victim is a 17-year-old girl, while the oldest is 87 years old. The majority of the injured are in moderate condition, with four in serious condition and three in surgery.

Oleksandr Filchakov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, stated that the enemy launched eight guided aerial bombs from three SU-34 aircraft from Stroitel, Belgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation. Two bombs hit the territory of the Tsyrkunivska territorial community, while six strikes were recorded in Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, Saltivskyi, and Nemyshlianskyi districts.

In the Kyivskyi district, an aerial bomb hit a nine-story residential building. Another strike was recorded on an open land plot in the same district. A bakery in Kharkiv was also hit by a FAB-500 aerial bomb, resulting in one death and eight injuries. All the victims were employees of the enterprise.

In the Saltivskyi district, a bomb struck near houses and a children’s playground, killing one woman and injuring two people. Another man was wounded by a separate strike on an open area in the same district.

An aerial bomb also hit a forest belt in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the attack, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and thanking all countries and leaders who are helping Ukraine protect the lives of its citizens from Russian strikes. He emphasized the need to stop terror.
