On 21 December, the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, according to the report by the Finnish Ministry of Defense. This will be the 21st package from Finland since the onset of Russia’s full-scale in February 2022.

According to the Ministry, the estimated value of this package is approximately 106 million euros. Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen highlighted Finland’s commitment to supporting Ukraine both in the short and long term.

“Finland seeks to support Ukraine in the short and long term. The total value of the defense equipment packages we have already delivered amounts to 1.6 billion euros,” Minister Kaikkonen said.

The Finnish side did not disclose details regarding the contents of the package or the timetable for its delivery to Ukraine. This decision is based on operational considerations and to ensure the safe delivery of assistance.
