The Swedish government has authorized a €124 million winter aid package for Ukraine, underscoring its significance in bolstering civil infrastructure.

Sweden approves €124 mn winter aid package for Ukraine

On December 14th, the Swedish government greenlit a EUR 124 million winter aid package for Ukraine, as previously announced by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The news was shared by the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union on social media platform X/Twitter, according to Ukrinform.

Ukraine is fighting for its survival and for Europe’s security and freedom. This is a crucial time for support to Ukraine. Today, Sweden’s government has approved a Ukraine winter package of €124m for civil infrastructure. Continued EU financial support is key. Ukraine’s future is in the EU!” the post reads.

Previous reports indicated that Sweden, Norway, and Finland jointly pledged EUR 21.5 million to the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) fund. This funding will be directed towards essential municipal infrastructure and environmental projects in Ukraine.

Earlier Sweden sent Ukraine a new military aid package worth $199 million, consisting mainly of artillery ammunition.

Also, Sweden provided Ukraine with eight Archer artillery systems.
