Security analysts say Russia may launch cyberattacks on Ukraine’s Western allies to undermine their support for the country, Sky News has reported.
The warning came after a major cyberattack on Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile operator with over 24 million mobile customers. The hackers caused a technical failure, which made mobile communications and Internet access unavailable.

Cyber intelligence lead Roman Faithfull in Cyjax, a threat intelligence provider, said Russia could target Ukraine’s allies, which may have comparatively weak cyber defenses, in a bid to disrupt supply chains and induce war fatigue.
“Businesses and cybersecurity experts should be on their guard for any irregular activity and bolster their defenses across the cyber and information space,” he said.
Last week, the UK government warned that Russian cyber attackers targeted British politicians, think tanks, journalists, schools, and the NHS.
