Russia officially recognizes death of its Major General Zavadsky at Kherson’s Krynky

The governor of Russia’s Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, has acknowledged the elimination of the Russian Army’s Major General Vladimir Zavadsky last week, deputy commander of Russia’s 14th Army Corps, Liga reports.

On 28 November, Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Anatolii Stefan reported that Vladimir Zavadsky might have been eliminated as initial reports claimed that on the afternoon of 28 November, the Russian high-ranking officer was killed by a mine explosion.

Governor Gusev said that Zavadsky was killed “at a combat post”. Before that, Russia-linked channels claimed that he allegedly died as his vehicle hit a mine near the village of Krynky on the Russian-controlled eastern bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, where the Ukrainian forces recently established a bridgehead.

In 2022, Zavadsky was a commander of Russia’s Taman Division. During the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces in Kharkiv Oblast, he was allegedly wounded and escaped from the city of Izium, which was liberated on 10 September last year.
