January 26 – 7 Ukrainian military were killed and 24 injured in the ATO area in the last 24 hours, – informed the spokesman for the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces Vladyslas Seleznyov January 26 – During a meeting on Monday, PACE Bureau (governing body of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) has by a majority vote decided to recognize immunity of the member of Ukrainian parliament Nadiya Savchenko, -informed PACE President Anne Brasseur. Russia is now obligated to free Nadiya Savchenko. As usual, Russia is ignoring the whole thing and refuses to act. January 26 – Artillery spotter who was involved in attack on Mariupol confirms that the shelling was done by Russian artillery battery. Spotter’s last name is Kirsanov and he is a citizen of Ukraine. He was detained and the video of his interrogation was shown to journalists at Security Service of Ukraine. Russian officer (aka “Pepel) was in command of the unit, which carried out the shelling.” January 26 – Russia has begun using its military aviation near the border with Ukraine more often, – informed Deputy Head of Information and Analytical Center of the National Security and Defense Council Volodymyr Polyovyi. Aviation is needed only if Russia plans for a large-scale offensive.     February 4 – Armed Forces of Ukraine have killed 11 Russian military who participated in the shelling of Mariupol on January 24th (Russian officer-terrorist who led the artillery attack and 10 his accomplices). All of them were killed near the village of Bezimenne (Novoazovsk rayon). Russian troops continue to hide the traces of these crimes. Russian soldiers have been transporting the bodies of the terrorists to Russia so that the relatives are able to bury them, – informed SSU Chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko at a press conference. According to him, SSU has identified everyone who shelled Mariupol but "operation continues to identify terrorists who attacked civilians in Volnovakha and other areas".

    February 4 – in the Donbas region the general number of fighters already exceeds 3 thousand people and they are continuing to increse their strength. This is written by the organizer of the group "Informational Opposition" and deputy Dmytro Tymchuk. "Within a 24-hour period we have noted the arrival of live forces on 24 covered trucks as well as 11 units of impenetrable carriers (including one tank)," writes Tymchuk.

According to him, the woman corrected the fire and traced the track of the firings by the fighters at goals in Debaltsev, Myronivsk, Mayorsk, Vuhlehirsk. "She even had a looking glass and a photo camera. She went to different points and took photographs of what the ammunition hit," he added. "The woman said that she passed on these photographs to the fighters through her daughter who still attends school," he continued. He added that two sons of the woman are fighting on the side of the fighters of "DNR".

    March 4 – According to the US military, Russia is supporting the separatists in eastern Ukraine with approximately 12 thousand Russian soldiers.

    March 4 – Ukraine is unilaterally suspending an agreement on local border traffic between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, -informed Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

    March 4 – In the estimation of American soldiers, Russia supports the seperatists in Eastern Ukraine by about 12,000 soldiers. This was stated by the Commander of U.S. Ground Forces in Europe, General-Lieutenant Ben Hodges in Berlin on March 3rd in the evening, informed DW with bck-up from Reuters. This refers Russian army instructors, technicians who man current weaponryand direct fighter units. According to him,n addition to the named numbers one should also include almost 29,000 soldiers who are dislocated in Crimea. Until the annexation on the peninsula, in accordance with the agreement between Russia and Ukraine, there could be up to 25,000 servicemen, reminds the agency. Also approximately 50,000 soldiers, according to Hodges, are on Russian territory with a direct proximity to the Ukrainian border – in case the separatists suffer serious defeat, as it was at the end of 2014.
